Tawny Owls 2024/25

Welcome to the Tawny Owl Class

Mrs Muldoon is our class teacher. 
Miss Grisedale and Mrs Devitt are our senior teaching assistants. 

We have PE on a Tuesday and a Friday.  Please remove all jewellery on these days. 

Autumn Term 
Welcome to the Autumn Term in Tawny Owls. Below is an outline of the work we will be doing in each subject. 
 Each week we will bring a timetable home to show what we will be doing in school,  spellings for the following week will also be on the back of the timetable. 

English - we will be using the following texts in our English lessons - Paddington Bear, Paddington's Post, Molly McDrew and the Great Fire of London, Trixie, the Witch's Cat, Vlad and the Great War. 
We will also be looking at Julia Donaldson books for our whole class reading sessions. 
Phonics -
Year 1 - Bug Phonics 
Year 2 - Bug Phonics revise and consolidate, Support for Spelling lessons 
Maths - 
Year 1 - Place Value within 10, Addition and Subtraction within 10, Shape 
Year 2 - Place Value, Addition and Subtraction, Shape 
Science - 
Year 1 - Seasonal Changes, Everyday Materials 
Year 2 - Habitats, Microhabitats 
DT - Constructing a Windmill 
Art - Drawing - Make your mark 
Music - Musical Vocabulary - Under the sea, Tempo - Snail and Mouse 
Computing - Improving mouse skills, Algorithms unplugged
RE - Why do we need to give thanks?, Why should we care for the world?, Advent, Christmas 
RSE/PSCHE - Family and Relationships, Health and well-being
PE - Rugby, Gymnastics, Dance 

We will also be doing lots of other exciting things in school.
